The Costume Buying team sources and procures raw goods & products for all facets of the Costuming business. The position will lead all aspects of the day-to-day operation of all buying functions and interface across the globe as we share standard processes with other sites enterprise-wide. This position report to the Manager-Costume Buying This is a full-time position. What You Will Do
Provide daily leadership, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports, including ensuring the team receives accurate training and understands their role and how to perform it optimally
Ensure that appropriate sourcing decisions are made to align sourcing strategies with design integrity, timeline, quality, and financial objectives.
Build and maintain collaborations and support business requests in a fast-paced environment.
Look for areas of opportunity to improve efficiency for the organization and strive for consistent processes within the organization
Maintain working relationships with outside and internal vendors while ensuring the product is delivered on time and of high quality.
Ensure that Costume Buying processes and practices are in line with and adhere to Corporate Sourcing & Procurement purchasing guidelines.
Align Costume Buying processes and practices with Advisory & Assurance accountability requirements.
Ensure that discontinued garments are accurately allocated for obsolescence in a timely manner.
Negotiate supplier agreements to achieve the best cost and terms.
Lead and supervise accounting for all Costume service suppliers (shoe repair, cleaning, and costume rental).
Required Qualifications & Skills
3 years experience in a leadership role with direct and indirect reports
3 years experience in Costuming, Theater, Fashion, or other related fields
Experience with garment construction and/or textiles
Experience forecasting resource needs
Experience managing a budget
Experience in problem-solving and conflict resolution
Negotiating and influencing experience
Experience working in a team environment where collaboration is key
Experience communicating (verbal and written) with all levels of partners
Ability to work around all types of fibers, fabrics, and furs
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, nights, and holidays
Ability to travel domestically up to 20% of the time and internationally up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using purchasing software, Sharepoint, Yunique (PLM), and/or Smartsheet
Experience drafting and initiating vendor contract agreements
Valid US passport
Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
Project management experience
Education
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Advanced degree in Fashion, Theatre, Supply Chain, or related fields is preferred
