Reporting to the Senior Director Surgical Services, the Nurse Manager PACU will join the perioperative surgical services team, working alongside a team of highly specialized surgeons, specialists, nurses, technicians and ancillary staff. The Perioperative Service department is known for both their inpatient and outpatient surgical services. Utilizing cutting edge technology and the most advanced technique, this hospital is proud to offer minimally invasive and robotic surgery, along with traditional surgical procedures. Some of the many special areas of surgery offered at this facility include Cardiac Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Weight-Loss or Bariatric Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.
Responsibilities of the Nurse Manager PACU include overseeing day-to-day operations of the postanesthesia care unit, updating policy procedures, ensuring state and regulatory compliance, cross collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and overall department staffing which includes scheduling, payroll, disciplinary action, evaluations, and assisting with the hiring process.
Ideally, the Nurse Manager PACU will have prior leadership experience and a clinical background working in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit or a Pre-Operative Care Unit. The Nurse Manager PACUmust hold an active Registered Nurse license along with their BSN or MSN.
