The Clinical Research RN will coordinate all activitiesrelated to the patient’s participation on clinical research studies. The Research RN will be responsible for thesound conduct of the clinical trial, including but not limited to recruitment,screening, enrollment, and follow-up of eligible subjects according to protocolrequirements. 1. Will participate and maintain a culture within TheCorvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service andBehavioral Standards Caregiver document. To this end, employee will be expectedto read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within. 2. Independently develops and implements a plan to manageall aspects of the clinical trial i.e., patient recruitment, study conductaccording to GCP/FDA regulations, investigational product management, andpatient safety and adverse event management. 3. Evaluates the patients understanding of the proposedstudy, reviews the consent/assent with the patient and obtains consent/assentfor the study from the patient/legally authorized representative (LAR) underthe direction of the study physician. 4. Educates patients and acts as their advocate during thestudy. Serves as a resource for studypatients. 5. Demonstrates commitment to colleagues by working as ateam member to meet department goals/objectives. 6. Trains and oversees support staff. 7. Ensures that study paperwork is complete and accurate. 1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN) andcurrent and unencumbered Oregon nursing license required. 2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification orability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required. 3. Three (3) to five (5) years nursing experiencerequired. 4. Prior experience in clinical research ispreferred. Nursing experience whichrequired self-direction, problem solving, and triage strongly preferred. 1. Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn to use various computerprograms. 2. Ability to multi-task and delegate. 3. Ability to communicate and work compatibly andprofessionally with physicians, patients, and other staff. 4. Ability to independently develop and implement a workplan.
