OverviewWe are seeking a Full Stack .Net Developer for a large-scale modernization project. The Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) is going through a large-scale modernization of many of its core application systems. These applications and data are being consolidated and will be hosted as one application system in the Microsoft Azure cloud. The modernization effort (OnBoard) and the associated software delivery will occur incrementally. The OnBoard program roadmap will consist of multiple, discrete projects leading to the final, to-be WCB enterprise-wide software solution hosted in Azure, resulting in the sunsetting of all legacy systems.
Responsibilities
- Understand user requirements and write clean code from front-end to back-end layers.
- Participate in the design and review sessions.
- Build visually appealing front-end of applications following design guidelines.
- Write effective web APIs using .net core technologies.
- Write unit tests for the code that is developed to ensure bug free code.
- Write database scripts and ensure optimal query performance.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and remediate bugs/defects.
- Align NYS compliance standards into design architecture and application framework, including coding UI to accessibility standards.
- Write technical documentation.
- Document Standard Operating Procedure and perform knowledge transfer to others.
- As part of application support lifecycle, address defects and enhancements.
- Participate in incident resolution postimplementation, as required.
- Must have more than one (1) but less than four (4) years’ experience as a Developer.
- Proven experience in full-stack development, understanding user requirements, and writing clean code for both front-end and back-end layers.
- Proficiency in writing effective web APIs using .NET Core technologies.
- Experience writing unit tests to ensure bug-free code.
- Proven experience writing database scripts and optimizing query performance.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and bug remediation skills.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Experience working with NYS standards.
- Strong technical documentation skills.

- (Front End) ASP.Net Core, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML 5, Bootstrap, CSS/SCSS/LESS, Third party controls like Telerik/Infragistics, Razor Pages, AJAX
- (Middleware) .Net Core, C#, Entity Framework Core, Web API, LINQ, XML, JSON, Swagger
- (Cloud) Azure App Insights, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Azure Redis Cache, Azure Blob Storage/File Share
- (Code Management) Git/TFS, Azure DevOps, JIRA
- (Unit Testing) XUnit/NUnit, Ability to write Unit test cases
- (Database) SQLServer, T-SQL, Ability to write complex SQL and Stored Procedures
- (OS) Windows
- (Development IDEs) Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, SSMS
- IIS
- Docker, Docker Desktop
