Registered Nurse - PCU - Per Diem
Overview:
We are seeking a Registered Nurses - RNs in Norman, OK to join our healthcare team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our patients. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patients' conditions
- Perform gastric lavage and other necessary procedures
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their healthcare needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Assist with triage and prioritize patient needs
- Coordinate home care services and facilitate smooth transitions between healthcare settings
- Administer IV infusions and manage central lines
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
Skills:
- Proficient in conducting gastric lavage procedures
- Strong knowledge of vital signs assessment and interpretation
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Competent in administering IV infusions and managing central lines
- Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME) usage and maintenance
- Ability to triage patients effectively based on their needs
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Strong critical thinking skills to provide optimal patient care in critical situations
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Oklahoma or Compact
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required, preferably in critical care or step-down units
- BLS & ACLS certification required
