Clutch is Hiring a Senior Oracle Database Administrator Near Washington, DC

Clutch, Inc., a small federal government contractor with 23 years experience, is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to join our database team. This person will work to manage the deployment of and maintenance of the application related database objects in a large, complex, and distributed environment used by dozens of applications. They will also be expected to provide other Database Administrator (DBA) functions such as daily monitoring, preventative maintenance, tuning, and configuration support for the databases in our different environments, production, testing and development. Position requires onsite work at Client location in Washington, DC two days each week on Monday and Tuesday.

Successful candidates will have extensive experience with the latest releases of Oracle RDBMS and be proficient with Oracle - both in Standalone and RAC clustered environments. The candidate should be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills and work seamlessly in a team environment as well as independently.

Teamwork is a key element of the position, not just with the DBA team, but also with the developers and system owners when resolving issues as well as when planning and executing application deployments, bug fixes, and database or system enhancements. This person needs to have good observational and analytical skills to help identify and resolve issues with the systems and deployments before and after they occur. Position will at-times require after-hours and weekend work to support Critical application database code deployments and troubleshooting.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience working with Oracle Databases in a Cloud hosting environment would be a PLUS.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

o 10 years of Oracle DBA experience.

o Extensive Experience working in and supporting critical high-availability PRODUCTION Oracle database environments.

o Extensive work experience with Oracle Database version 19c.

o Experience with database code development using Oracle PL/SQL.

o Extensive experience supporting Oracle database development and maintenance in a DBA role.

o Experience working with Database development teams – Reviewing code and Providing guidance on development best practices.

o Experience with performing and deployment of database code objects to Test and Production databases and troubleshooting issues.

o Experience with Oracle Data Modeling and database design.

o Hands-on experience working with oracle databases hosted on Linux platform.

o Ability to manage database security, users, groups, roles, and permissions.

o Hands-on experience with Oracle database 19c performance tuning.

o Experience with Oracle backup and recovery methodologies and their implementation.

o Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c.

o Experience with Oracle Goldengate, a PLUS.

o Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills

o Experience working with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Business Analysts).

o Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

o “Can-do” attitude, proactive and resourceful.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related IT or Engineering field and 10 years of work experience.

The Candidate must possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance. Please do not apply if you do not have a current Top Secret Clearance.
