The Assistant Account Executive typically has 6–18 months of experience on political campaigns, Capitol Hill, trade associations, corporate policy offices, public affairs agencies, etc. In this position, you will play a role on one or more public affairs accounts (depending on size of accounts). The Assistant Account Executive supports executing SOW activities (media relations, content creation, digital activity, design work, research, monitoring, reports, etc.). You will have good writing skills. In this role, you will draft client communication around deliverables and client materials such as press releases, pitches, reports, etc. The Assistant Account Executive pays attention to relevant industry trends. You will actively look for personal growth opportunities by raising your hand on client work and business development projects. 

What you will be doing:

  • Participate in client calls and actively listen during meetings
  • Create client deliverables (agendas, action items, hot lists, reports, etc.)
  • Manage workflow for client work
  • Email/communicate directly with clients
  • Work with client teams to respond quickly and deliver on client requests
  • Draft well-written, grammatically correct client-facing agendas, meeting notes, emails
  • Execute communications strategies and tactics on behalf of clients, including developing media lists, pitching media, creating social content, and drafting content
  • Contribute to client presentation materials, such as agendas, presentation decks, briefing books, and research packets
  • Carefully monitor client news and client industries, and make recommendations based on emerging trends
  • Builds trackers and manages workflow for client work
  • Use monitoring tools to identify key insights for clients
  • Proactively learn about and react to industry-related business
  • Consistently meet or exceed deadlines
  • Find opportunities to mentor Account Coordinators and Fellows
  • Supports business development efforts through research and internal brainstorms
  • Proactively follow clients, competitors in social, traditional media, commercials, etc.
  • Participate in company-offered professional development opportunities

Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • 6–18 months of political communications experience
  • Comfortable with basic social media platforms and skills such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Seeks and is receptive to feedback; puts feedback into action
  • Comfortable with Microsoft and Google office products
  • Comfortable learning and adopting new tech platforms
  • Mastery of AP Style
  • Exceptional attention to detail

The salary range for this position is $49,500-$66,400.
