Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties is Hiring a Relief Client Service Specialist Near Lansing, MI

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Coordinator, Adult Mental Health Services/Bridges Crisis Unit, provides a wide range of direct and indirect mental health services to adults with chronic mental illness, substance use disorders and adjustment disorders in a short term crisis residential program. Duties include triage of referrals, intake and psychosocial assessment; crisis intervention; one on one contacts; discharge planning; consultations; treatment planning; facilitation of therapeutic groups; and consumer observation. CMHA-CEI is a Michigan Certified Bronze Level Veteran Friendly Employer and we encourage active military service member, veterans, and their family member to apply.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required. A minimum of one year of professional experience working with persons with mental illness required. On a case by case basis, may assess and consider an applicant with two years of paraprofessional experience working with persons with mental illness required. Experience providing psychiatric step down and hospital diversion to consumers with serious psychiatric symptoms that require more intense clinical interventions. Candidate will provide crisis intervention as needed. Must be able to operate a computer and have the ability to gain proficiency in CMHA-CEI’s computer systems including: SmartCare, MIS LIVE, and Microsoft Word. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required.

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a criminal background check (including fingerprinting), a physical exam, verification of an acceptable Michigan driving record. Candidate must be able to pass a physical exam annually. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Hours/Salary: $23.33 hr. 0-19hrs per week hours are NOT guaranteed. Relief position – filling in for regular staff. Shifts include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Required to work weekends and CMHA-CEI observed holidays. After completing of new hire orientation training, staff will receive a $500.00 sign-on bonus. An additional $500 bonus is granted upon completion of either 100 hours worked or six months of work
