Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Court & Community Liaison Team Coordinator, serves as a professional performing a wide range of direct and indirect mental health services to consumers with serious and persistent mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders. Serves along with the State Hospital Liaison with the primary duty as assisting with the Liaison between AMHS and State and Local hospitals, State and Federal prisons and the Center for Forensic Psychiatry. Responsible for extensive case documentation. Assesses challenging behaviors and emotional trauma by interviewing and observing consumers, reviewing appropriate records, and assisting in connecting consumers to appropriate outpatient services and residential care. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
Requirements: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related filed required.A minimum of one year of professional experience working with persons with severe and persistent mental illness required. On a cases-by-case basis, may assess and consider an applicant with two years of paraprofessional work experience working with persons with a severe and persistent mental illness. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required.
Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check (including fingerprinting), a physical exam, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Must pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen. Must pass a physical exam annually.

Salary/Hours: Starting salary $23.34 - $26.54 hourly, 40 hours per week.
