Overview:

This position primarily supports project managers, engineers, and field personnel in managing the company's projects. Responsibilities include project setup, budgeting, job-cost entries, change order management, accounts payable/receivable, and cash receipts, with involvement in implementing the ERP system, Acumatica.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Project setup: Collaborate with estimating to set up newly awarded projects in the ERP system and load project budgets.
• Budgeting and Change Orders: Ensure accuracy of project budgets and manage change orders effectively.
• Progress Invoicing and Cash Receipts: Enter customer invoices and pay applications accurately and manage daily cash receipts.
• Subcontractor and Vendor Management: Manage documentation for insurance certificates and licenses and maintain accurate vendor records.
• Payroll Coordination: Ensure accuracy of project-related timecards and non-project-related timecards.
• Month-end tasks: Reconcile contracts, enter monthly accrued amounts, reconcile direct job costs, record equipment depreciation, allocate indirect costs, and close inactive projects.
• Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the fixed-asset module in the ERP system and ensure proper recording of new equipment.
• Support Estimators and Project Managers: Assist in preparing financial documents and supporting documentation for proposals.
• Other tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Measures of Success:

• Timely and accurate support provided to project managers.
• Monthly closing entries completed by the fifth day of the month.
• Timely updates of vendor COIs and project entries.
• Accurate analysis of project contracts and billings.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration.
• 5 years of experience in construction accounting, including percentage-completion accounting and equipment costing.
• Prior experience with Acumatica or similar accounting software.
• Willingness to actively contribute and make a difference daily.
