Salary Range : $124,200 - $186,200 Annual
Job DetailsThe stated pay range is based on a national average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is bonus-eligible.
CNO Financial Group’s IT Team is hiring an IT Program Manager to provide leadership and vision for 1 to 3 strategic programs including waterfall projects, shared services, and agile teams for the IT Service Delivery organization. The role will direct between one to three concurrent multi-million-dollar, multi-year programs that will deliver significant operational improvements to CNO's business functions.

As an IT Program Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading program-level business case development, justification, program approval & funding.
  • Leading scoping and program establishment including prioritization for scoping efforts and targeted platforms, as well as project budgets, initial timelines, and scope.
  • Resource planning and engagement of resource and vendor management in defining staffing needs and providing feedback to build and maintain a high-performing team.
  • Directing technical consultants and architects to upgrade, re-build and/or re-design applications as appropriate utilizing strategic platforms, coding standards, and next-generation scale-able systems and business solutions.
  • Developing integrated project schedules that account for various internal and external dependencies, differing SDLC approaches (or agile delivery), numerous constraints, and contingencies for unplanned delays.
  • Anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, and making trade-offs to balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Acting as the “glue” that can understand, plan, and manage the cross-team interdependencies for large, complex systems in order to prioritize work.
  • Driving business area success and optimizing ROI by collaborating with appropriate business owners.
  • Continuously aligning program scope with business objectives and making recommendations to enhance program effectiveness
The IT Program Manager position is well-suited for you if you:
  • Have excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, demonstrating an ability to communicate with a wide spectrum of cross-functional team members and executives
  • Have advanced skills in financial management and budgeting, as well as procurement and contract negotiations across the program
  • Build strong interpersonal relationships with peers and can influence and negotiate with other IT leaders
What you’ll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
  • Typically, up to 10 years of related work experience
  • Experience delivering key IT implementation projects on time, on budget, and with the highest quality by leveraging combined onshore and offshore teams.
  • Experience leading teams through the formulation and execution of program plans (executed through Waterfall or Agile teams), strategies and functions
  • Willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours
What will set you apart:
  • Prior experience supporting CRM programs, including knowledge of CRM systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or HubSpot, as well as familiarity with CRM processes and best practices is preferred
  • PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI- ACP) preferred
  • Being a self-starter with a strong sense of motivation, able to work independently and take initiative in driving projects forward
