Job DescriptionINCREASED SIGN ON BONUSES!GENERAL EXPECTATIONSThe LPN is responsible for implementing and monitoring an array of health care and other personal support services designed to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Duties shall be carried out in conformance to the Agency’s purpose and philosophy and in a manner that recognizes values associated with Life Quality. This position works Monday through Friday 8am - 4pm. No weekends! No holidays! Qualifications
Current Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Practical Nurse.
Graduate of accredited school of nursing
Maintain current BLS Certification in Massachusetts
Physical capabilities required to perform direct service duties
Possession of a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and an agreement to use one’s personal vehicle for business purposes if so required.
a. Drivers must be 19 years of age and completed all required training.
b. Drivers must meet physical capabilities.
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferable.
Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and fingerprint check.
Acceptable screen against the OIG-LEIE (Office of the Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals and Entities).
Essential DutiesAdminister medications and implement nursing treatment plans. Confer with physicians, dentists, and therapists as appropriate. Communicate with/provide necessary information on relevant health issues to parents, guardians, other providers and applicable Agency staff. Respond to participant complaints of illness and recommend appropriate action. Confer with pharmacists regarding medications and their acquisitions as appropriate. Monitor seizure disorder records. Monitor and assess general health status of participants, including hygiene issues and skin integrity. Administer minor first aid when necessary. Complete all health-related documentation requirements.
