Job Title: Manager, FP&A

Primary Purpose: The Manager, FP&A will play a critical role in assisting the coordination and execution of business planning, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis within the Kate Spade North America direct businesses. This role will ensure adherence to deadlines and provide support to internal business partners by providing thoughtful analysis and insight into business trends. Essential duties and responsibilities include monthly close, budgeting, long range planning and forecasting, variance analysis and ad hoc analysis.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Finance to...

  • Manage and coordinate financial projections for the North America region and accurately predict profit outcomes; Coordinate alignment of business development actions with cross-functional partners
  • Review and compile key supporting documentation to ensure alignment with business partners and leadership
  • Develop financial forecasts for certain complex P&L accounts, including rent and depreciation
  • Identify and communicate key risks and opportunities
  • Provide variance analysis and synthesize concise explanations with the context of business trends within and across channels, as applicable
  • Work closely with accounting partners to support the month-end close processes and assist in delivering accurate financial results by performing analysis and providing relevant business context
  • Manage and coordinate key month end reporting to review with business partners to ensure financial targets are being achieved and underlying business trends are clear
  • Articulate financial concepts to non-finance business partners in a clear and concise manner
  • Identify process opportunities and provide solutions where inefficiencies exist
  • Validate completeness and accuracy of all required supporting deliverables submitted for consolidation on behalf of North America
  • Oversee all process and deliverables related to capital expenditures to ensure proper recognition and reporting
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis

An outstanding professional will have...

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration preferred
  • 5-6 years of Finance or related experience required
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Month-end close experience preferred; familiarity with accounting principles and concepts required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop other people
  • Familiarity with the following systems a plus: Microstrategy, Tririga, PBCS, SAP
  • Retail or consumer products experience a plus
