Coast Medical Service is Hiring a Travel RN - Med Surg / Telemetry Near Ketchikan, AK
Certification Details
- BLS certification required
- ACLS required for ICU, ER, PCU, Cath Lab, PACU, Tele, Respiratory Therapists
- PALS required for PICU, ER, PACU
- NRP certification required for NICU, Nursery, Antepartum, PostPartum, and Labor & Delivery units
- Chemo Cert required for Oncology
- TNCC required for ER
- EFM required for L&D, Mother-Baby/Post Partum, Nursery
- LONG TERM CARE RN
- Start Date: ASAP (4 weeks from offer for compliance requirements)
- Ratios: 8:1 days; 13:1 nights
- Years of Experience REQ: 2 years of Nursing home/LTC or Home Health preferred. Travel experience is preferred.
- Epic REQ? 1 year of Epic experience is preferred.
- Weekend REQ: TBD
- RTO Restrictions: We do not have any specific requirements around Holidays, however if the traveler is here for more than one recognized holiday we would ask them to work one of the holidays.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: CVA, Dementia, RA, Afib, Hip fx, Parkinsons, BKA, PNA, COPD, BKA, Hunntington's dx
- Common Equipment: Hoyer lift, SARA lift, tube feeding pump, IV pump
- This is an LTC unit; however, since it is the only LTC/Nursing Home in the PeaceHealth system, it functions more like an LTAC or step-down unit to MedSurg. We do not take trach patients, acute rehab, TPN, Bi-PAP, etc. We use a Pyxis medication system to load our Work Stations on Wheels. We DO NOT USE MedPacks which is what a lot of the LTC’s down south utilize, our Medpass process is a hybrid between a LTC/MedSurg process. Epic was designed as an acute care EMR and has been modified to accommodate LTC; however, the modifications make the charting labor-intensive.
- 2 years of Nursing home/LTC or Home Health preferred
- 1 year of Epic experience is preferred
- BLS certification required
- IV Insertion, PICC Lines skills required
- Open to accommodating block schedule: TBD
- Locals Accepted: No
- Pending License Accepted: Yes
- Shift: 3x12 Night (7pm-7:30am)
- First-Timers Accepted: Yes
- Rarely will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- This is an LTC unit functioning like an LTAC or step-down unit to MedSurg
- Must sign SS verification release
- AHA, MTN, Canadian AHA required for various certifications
- Alaska Release of Information time sensitive, email to facility HR contact
- COVID19 Travel Policy: Review PeaceHealth Travel Policy and CDC travel guidelines prior to start
