Direct of Operations Packaging Experience

· Experience in corrugated paper or packaging highly preferred
· Experience in a manufacturing environment required
· Operational Planning: Improve plant productivity by analyzing the value stream and targeting measurable improvement in cycle-times, labor efficiency, quality, yield, equipment utilization, etc.
· Lead Plant Safety initiatives: injury prevention, investigation, safety programs
· Operational Performance: Deliver daily, weekly and monthly performance across all key measures. Provide detailed analysis and countermeasures for variances to plan. Evaluate work order performance, identify underperforming jobs, and take action to improve contribution margin when possible.
· Workforce Planning: Maintain appropriate level of staff support necessary to meet business and budgetary goals and objectives. In times of variance, quickly develop plans and action plans to remedy the situation.
· Workforce Development: Develop plans to develop deep competency in converting, printing, logistics and inventory management. Identify long-term staffing needs and implement training and apprenticeship programs to prepare people for future opportunities.
· Supply Chain Management: Lead the Planning and Scheduling team and ensure robust inventory management, scheduling, and material handling systems. Develop a cost-efficient transportation system. Ensure compliance with all DOT and other regulatory requirements. Work with paperboard supplier partners to ensure cost leadership on raw material costs.
· Facilities and Maintenance: Lead the Maintenance team and ensure the safe and efficient utilization of the building and all equipment. Enforces building security, PM schedules and process engineering standards. Drive projects to improve equipment reliability and performance.
· Quality Management: Drive discipline and improvements to the Quality Management System. Ensure robust documentation of all procedures and essential work instructions.
· Budgeting and Financial Management: Support the budgeting process by translating forecasted demand into accurate labor budgets and capacity plans. Develop annual capital budget and financial justification for capital investments.
· Team Leadership: Establish meeting rhythm to coordinate activities with the plant leadership team. Establish effective processes for measuring operational performance and the impact of strategic initiatives.
· ERP System: Develop deep expertise in Amtech management software. Drive standards and educate others to help optimize the utility of the system. Ensure best practices and standards are documented.
