As an Accounts Payable Clerk at Coastal Equities, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our commercial real estate office. Your responsibilities will revolve around managing accounts payable processes efficiently and accurately. This includes:
- Processing Invoices: Receive, review, and process invoices from vendors and suppliers promptly and accurately, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Data Entry: Accurately input invoice details into the accounting system, ensuring proper coding, classification, and allocation of expenses.
- Invoice Verification: Verify that invoices received match purchase orders and other supporting documentation, resolving discrepancies and issues as needed.
- Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments to vendors via checks, ACH, or wire transfers in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to payment terms and deadlines.
- Vendor Communication: Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues courteously and professionally, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.
- Expense Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate accounting records.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions, including invoices, payments, and correspondence.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable processes.
- Support: Provide support to the accounting team as needed, assisting with month-end close procedures, audits, and other financial tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in accounts payable or general accounting role preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
