Responsibilities
Your Role:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing financial records for the Construction department, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Process and reconcile transactions related to vendor payables and other construction project spend
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
- Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience in a staff accountant or similar role
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Financial modeling and forecasting
- CPA certification or progress toward obtaining is a plus
- Bilingual Spanish
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements
