Renowned National Real Estate Developer wants to add an Accounting Manager to their Property Accounting team. The ideal candidate would be a CPA with prior experience in public accounting. Experienced in financial reporting, internal controls, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP. Work closely with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
• Collaborate with the finance team to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Provide variance analysis and insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records. Continuously assess processes for efficiency and effectiveness, recommending improvements where necessary.
• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and reporting. Coordinate with external tax advisors on tax planning and compliance matters.
• System Implementation and Optimization: Work with IT and other departments to implement and optimize accounting systems and software. Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Manage and oversee all aspects of real estate accounting, including property management, lease accounting, capital expenditures, and project cost tracking. Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, including experience with a Big four public accounting firm and at least two years in a managerial role within the real estate industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, real estate accounting principles, and financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage) and advanced Excel skills. E
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
