Vertically Integrated Real Estate Firm is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Real Estate Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a CPA certification and have prior experience working with a Big 4 accounting firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
• Coordinate and manage external audits and tax preparations.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Oversee property-level accounting and financial reporting.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies.
• Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds.
• Manage financing activities, including debt management and compliance.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Ensure ongoing training and development of accounting staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including experience in the real estate industry.
• Prior experience working with a Big 4 accounting firm is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
