Company Overview: We are currently partnered with a leading organization at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution. The team is comprised of industry experts passionate about driving growth in the solar energy sector.

The Director of Project Finance will play a crucial role in leading the financial structuring, capital raising, and execution of solar energy projects. This role requires deep expertise in capital markets, particularly within the renewable energy sector, with a strong focus on solar energy. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of project financing, from initial feasibility studies to financial close, ensuring the long-term success and profitability of the projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive capital markets strategies to secure financing for solar energy projects. This includes identifying and engaging with potential investors, lenders, and financial partners.
  • Lead the structuring and negotiation of project finance deals, including debt, equity, and tax equity arrangements. Ensure optimal capital structures to maximize returns and minimize risks.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed financial models to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of solar projects. Perform scenario analysis to assess the impact of various financing structures.
  • Manage the due diligence process, including financial, technical, and legal aspects, to ensure projects meet all necessary requirements for financing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and present relevant data.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, banks, and other capital providers. Communicate effectively to articulate the value proposition of solar projects and secure commitments.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with solar projects. Develop strategies to address market fluctuations, regulatory changes, and other potential risks.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative environment focused on achieving project finance goals. Provide guidance on complex financial transactions and capital market strategies.
  • Ensure all project finance activities comply with relevant regulations, including energy market rules and financial reporting standards. Stay informed of changes in the regulatory environment and adjust strategies accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in project finance, with a strong focus on capital markets and renewable energy, particularly solar. Proven track record of successfully closing large-scale project finance deals.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar energy markets, financing mechanisms, and tax equity structures. Familiarity with financial instruments, including bonds, loans, and derivatives.
  • Exceptional financial modeling, analytical, and negotiation skills. Strong understanding of risk management practices and regulatory compliance in the energy sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to diverse stakeholders, including investors and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing teams and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
