Codeword LLC is Hiring a Senior Project Manager Near New York, NY

What We Need About Us: Codeword is an agency of creative problem solvers who believe marketing doesn’t have to suck.
We are a fast-growing, fast-moving team of writers, editors, designers, strategists, videographers, PR mavens, and even a few traditional marketers. We have an incredible roster of big and small tech clients for whom we manage editorial and social channels, develop smart marketing strategies, drive news coverage, and create big ideas.
Codeword is a remote-first agency, though we have physical offices in NYC and SF that we won’t make you visit.
About You
  • 8-10 years of agency or related experience
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable establishing and maintaining complex project timelines, across a variety of stakeholders
  • Excels at managing expectations through change and ensuring that your team delivers exceptional work
  • Demonstrable knowledge of team and agency operations
  • Successful track record managing multiple work streams and varied projects
  • Very strong communicator and excel in fostering clear communication channels
About This RoleThis embedded role will be based remotely and will work closely with Google’s Economic and Community Development (ECD) Content team under the Energy and Location Strategy (ELS) team. The role will interact cross-functionally with many teams across the Google Data Center (GDC) organization and the broader Google organization, such as Sustainability, Climate, Strategic Negotiators, Public Affairs, Policy, Public Relations/Communications, and more.
They’ll get to work alongside an incredible team of strategists, program managers, and creatives - keeping everyone updated, ontrack, and delivering exceptional work.
This candidate will take the lead on high priority/high visibility projects with simultaneous workstreams. This will include large content improvement sprints, website builds, articles, infographics, and more achieving the objectives they’ve worked with key stakeholders to establish.
They’ll work very closely with other departments and the Senior Project manager will be expected to provide creative and strategic input on briefs, helping to define priorities, and ensure all stakeholders have what they need to get projects completed.
They’ll be a strong communicator who can build trust with our internal team and across the organization and make them fall (even more) in love with us and our work. They’ll identify and drive creative opportunities for special projects and initiatives, as well as maintaining day-to-day meetings and trackers.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Maintain a high overview of the overall organization's work: be the single reference point for the team on any questions related to status or project progress
  • Independent management of projects, timelines, deliverables and budgets
  • Day-to-day communication with internal and external stakeholders, understanding their needs and overall goals
  • Develop timelines and project plans and tracking progress against key milestones to align with the larger organization’s due dates
  • Striving for clarity: if something is ambiguous, be autonomous to drive the "why" until you get an answer
  • Have the ability to mobilize resources to most effectively meet project requirements—engage the right people at right time and keeping the momentum going (which can be hard to have a team do) in order to close out projects
  • Play a key role in project planning and prioritization right alongside the Global Head - Datacenter Economic Community Development
Your CompensationPeople – that's you! – are the heart of our business, and we believe in pay transparency.
Our budget for this role is $125K-$150K, depending on experience.
Your Benefits
  • Flexible work hours
  • Minimum 20 days paid vacation annually
  • 401k financial wellness support
  • Health Insurance (medical, dental, life, pet, mental health services)
  • Home office allowance
  • Bi-annual Wellness Credits
  • Monthly Technology Credit (to offset internet / phone costs)
  • Every role is bonus eligible
  • Comprehensive Parental Leave Policy
About A few more things you should know about Codeword:
  • The Codeword dream: Make good money doing work you care about with people you like.
  • We love our clients (they write the checks!), which means maintaining a high bar for the creativity, smarts, responsiveness, and communication skills we offer them.
  • We’re around 100 people, big enough to handle large-scale marketing programs, small enough that you’ll have an impact on our culture.
  • We’re a friendly team, we look after each other, and we grow our careers together.
  • We respect everyone’s personal life. After-hours emails are strongly frowned upon, night and weekend work is very rare, and employees are encouraged to pursue their side-hustles.
  • We’re all grownups here, and we trust each other to get the work done, whether at home or in an office or a time zone on the other side of the world.
  • We believe in defaulting to openness. Our calendars, our salary tiers, and our doors are open for all to see. (Except for secret client stuff, which we guard with our lives.)
  • We’re a proud member of the global WE Communications family.
Equal Opportunity: Codeword provides equal employment opportunity and doesn’t discriminate against employees or applicants because of age, race, color, religion, gender, national origin, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, or other legally protected class status.
Diversity and Inclusion: Codeword works hard to foster a diverse team and an inclusive workplace where everyone thrives.
We aren’t a traditional agency, so we like to hire people who don’t necessarily fit the agency mold or check all the “right” boxes. If you’re on the fence about applying, please do!
