Very few construction and A/V installers have what it takes to navigate the healthcare environment but those who can work at Cogent. Cogent is a custom technology hardware integrator for the healthcare industry. We support hospital IT, Biomed, Engineering and AV departments. We consult, sell, install and support a variety of technologies for healthcare facilities. Currently we are seeking a skilled Installation Technician to work in the Charleston, Augusta, and Columbia areas.Essential Job Functions:

Cogent is a custom technology hardware integrator for the healthcare industry. We support hospital IT, Biomed, Engineering and AV departments. We consult, sell, install and support a variety of technologies for healthcare facilities. Currently we are seeking a skilled Installation Technician to work in the Charleston, Augusta, and Columbia areas.Essential Job Functions:
- Install and service specialized medical IT mounting hardware and attached equipment.
- Maintain tools, equipment and stock in company van
- Account management: Conduct walk throughs and build relationships at Charleston, Augusta, and Columbia hospitals
- Post-construction installation of medical equipment mounting hardware
- Problem solving skills
- Perform installations and prep sites with backing if needed
- Comfortable working with computer software for back-end documentation
- Cooperation with the Sales Team, Technicians and Management
- Build rapport with customers and manage customer expectations to ensure a positive experience
- Willingness to travel
- Keeps his/her manager informed about progress and problems; avoids surprises.
- Ensures that regular, consistent communication takes place and that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans.
- Is able to explain the roles and responsibilities of team members and how the team works together to accomplish tasks.
- Knows when to escalate critical issues to management, if own efforts have not succeeded.
- Quickly and effectively solves customer problems in a way that meets customer expectations.
- Presents a cheerful, positive manner with customers and always lets customers know he/she is willing to work with them to meet their needs.
- Acts confidently in uncertain circumstances; works effectively in ambiguous situations.
- Minimum requirements needed to submit resume:
- Highly skilled; 3 years minimum of prior construction, Low voltage or AV experience a plus.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and install equipment in unusual and sometimes difficult positions
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An ability to keep organized in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
- Self-starter that requires minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and organizational skills
- Must have Covid Vaccine
- Install equipment in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as under work surfaces
- Have the ability to climb ladders
- Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- This job may require some work on weekends and/or evenings (10%).
- This job may require some overnight travel (10%)
- To be considered for employment, a candidate must have
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Willingness to update immunization records and flu shot records
- Current Covid Vaccination
- A clean driving record
- Willingness to take a personality test
