This role is with the Cognizant Integration and Process Management Practice within Enterprise Platform Services Team (IPM-EPS). Cognizant's IPM practice is a world leading provider of Hybrid Cloud Integration and Process Automation Services. IPM has strategic alliances with "best of bread" platform providers to provide service for Cloud Integration, Hybrid Integration Platforms, B2B Platforms, DPA and Low Code Platforms, and Cloud Integration.

Job Description: As a Java Architect, you'll build fully-fledged platforms using a range of different technologies. You'll be involved in the entire product development lifecycle including the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of new and existing features. While each team member has a primary skill set, they are also expected to learn and contribute to areas outside of their primary skill set. The team is highly collaborative and values continuous improvement and open communication. You will be expected to be a well-regarded and respected individual contributor; possess strong inter-personal skills, as well as proven track record of application development with skills in Java, distributed cache technology and building scalable robust systems. Requirements and Responsibilities:

* Proficiency in Java development.

* Proficiency and demonstrated experience in the following technologies:

o J2EE technologies: Java, JSP, JMS, JAXB, JDBC, EJB

* Database and persistence frameworks: Hibernate, Oracle, Object/Relational Mapping and Query performance tuning.

* Cloud-based development: IBM Cloud, Kubernetes, and Docker containerization.

* Web Servers: Tomcat and tcServer.

* Web Services: REST/SOAP (JSON/WSDL/XML).

* Frameworks: Spring Framework and Spring Boot.

* Front-end: Angular/React, NodeJS, Ext JS, CSS,jQuery and AJAX.

* Build/deployment tools: Maven, Gradel, Git, Junit and Mockito.

* Other Dev Ops Toolchain: Selenium, SonarQube, Slack, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.

* Proficiency in object-oriented design techniques and principles.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

* Experience in Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM.

* Experience in DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.

Additional Experience and Education

* BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.

* 3 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications in hosted production environments.

* 3 years of Microservice framework/REST development.

* Experience with Java, GitHub, and other DevOps tools.

* 5 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.

* 2 years of Kubernetes Services with a deep understanding of Container Orchestration and Distributed System Concepts.

* Airline Industry experience.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $125,000 and $140,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
