The Role

Our Retail and Consumer Good Practice group is looking for a Business Analyst/Product Owner to join our journey. We’re looking for someone who has experience in Retail in the area of Merchandising.

We’re looking for Senior Consultants who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Senior Consultant, this means partnering with clients and project stakeholders, colleagues to clarify requirements and support delivery of effective solutions; applying technical and domain expertise to solve core client business challenges or inefficiencies; developing and strengthening domain knowledge and maintaining an accurate understanding of Cognizant’s industry propositions and consulting capabilities; supporting business development activities of senior leaders; contributing to the development of practice initiatives or new service offerings (e.g., Strategic Control Points, development of consulting assets); and being an inspiring colleague, promoting team motivation, partnership, and ownership for projects. THIS ROLE

In this role, the BUSINESS ANALYST will work on a Scrum team in the Merchandising Domain with a focus on product data acquisition, validation, transformation and consumption. This team is one of several across the Merchandising Experience pillar at the client.

You will analyze issues generated from applications and solve user problems to enable an experience for users, including Category Managers and Vendor/Suppliers to run their business in a seamless way.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand and detail user stories

• Create and manage weekly reporting

• Updated and maintain process flows associated with core merchandising functions

• Coordinate and provide recommended action and support for business and technical teams

• Set up and manage the meetings between business users, product teams, and technical teams

• Identify areas of Process Improvement and make recommendations

• Model Agile principles, measure output, improve execution and continuously deliver value

• Manage stakeholders to influence and drive change

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• Ability to identify metrics/key performance measures and use data to drive decisions enhancing the customer and user experience

• Understanding of the business domain, stakeholders, business processes and constraints in which your product(s) play

• Capability to understand customers/users problems, how they think and operate and the platforms/technology they use

• Collaborates with cross-functional software development teams in an agile environment

• Balances and negotiates business priorities

• Technical acumen – grasps the technical details to lead a team

• Strong data management and analysis skills

• Stakeholder management skills – experienced in building and managing stakeholder relationships to influence and drive change

• Problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills

• Planning, organizational and time management skills

• Comfort with ambiguity – remains confident, positive, and resourceful in the face of ambiguity and unexpected results; recovers quickly from setbacks

• Exhibits qualities of and have proven to be a great teammate and cross functional partner

• Verbal and written communication skills, ability to translate between business and technical

Retail Merchandising experience mandatory

EXPERIENCE and EXPECTATIONS

Minimum

• Excellent oral/written communication skills and extreme attention-to-detail, self-starter, proactive

• Proficient Microsoft Office skills

• Demonstrated leadership experience in product lifecycle development, software or adjacent (product management)

• 1-2 years of business analyst software development experience in a technology business

• Relevant bachelor’s degree in disciplines such as business, marketing, management, computer science, or equivalent practical experience

• Business Analyst or technical product experience with a multi-channel retailer

• Experience with iterative product development (Agile)

• Experience using Atlassian products

• Work on east coast hours

• Data background

• SQL and Mural experience

General

• Occasional travel to work locations to attend company meetings

• Possible travel to interview/observe the users and/or customers

• Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

• Comfort with remote enabled tools, such as Teams

Work Authorization

· Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.)

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $110,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
