Job Description
  • Ensure timely repairs necessary to minimize costly downtime and to maintain production schedules.
  • Research, plan, and prepare proposals for approval of capital equipment, expansion construction, major maintenance projects, and service contracts.
  • Plan, organize, and administer departmental systems, procedures, operating budgets, continuous improvement and controls for cost effective operation.
  • Work with appropriate group to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and requirements.
  • Build a cohesive team with the skills necessary to successfully meet the departmental, company or corporate objectives and strategies.
  • Provide the coaching and continuous feedback necessary for individual and team growth.
  • Provide necessary support to all lean and continuous improvement activities.
  • Administer PM and work order system, including assigning work orders and tracking all PM’s.
  • Supervises hourly maintenance technicians and facility plant operators.
  • Evaluates performance, provides feedback, coaching, and completes performance reviews.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with management, direct supervision, and direct reports.
  • Interacts with other departments, contractors, vendors, engineers and customers daily.
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.
  • Works closely with Engineering to modify programming of systems and related equipment such as process control and programmable controllers.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures and schedules to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Confers with other supervisors, managers, and directors to coordinate activities of individual depts.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum A.A.S. degree in an Engineering, Trade, or other technical discipline.
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in a management capacity.
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of automated equipment, industrial equipment, plant operations etc, in a semiconductor or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership roles and consistent achievement record in all work or school related activities.
  • Experience with PLC’s, variable speed drives, servo drives and other sophisticated electrical equipment.
  • Experience with chemical treatment, waste treatment systems, and environmental control systems.
Skills & Other Requirements
  • Successfully lead the maintenance group by exemplary leadership, integrity and character.
  • Must have highest standard of business and personal ethics.
  • Demonstrated experience in process systems as well as strong project-management skills.
  • Working knowledge of all maintenance functions, as well as strong engineering and technical skills.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Systems CMMS’s.
  • Proficient in other Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and manage outside contractors and vendors
  • Possess internal customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and utilize equipment manuals.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task, as well as delegate and direct workflow.
  • Knowledge of current laws and standards applicable to equipment and building maintenance, and facility security.
  • Ability to recognize individual's strengths and weaknesses for hiring and performance evaluations of facilities staff.
  • Ability to evaluate procedures and initiate improvements.
Working ConditionsThe work environment of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor varies tremendously from day to day, or even hour to hour. He or she could be called upon to work in any of the plant operation or maintenance functions. The position involves time ordering parts and supplies, analyzing the work flow, delegating work to technicians, keeping track of contractors, meeting with vendors, specifying products and support of facility functions. This positions works closely with FAB personnel, engineers, managers and directors from all departments within the company, outside contractors, vendors, municipalities and regulatory agencies.
Safety RequirementsAll employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.
Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.
