Coherent is Hiring a Seed Bonding operator Near Brook, NJ

Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs Seed preparation and related technological processes in accordance with instructions from the Supervisor, Process Engineer and lead operator. Prime duties include seed etching, lapping, polishing, cleaning, mounting, loading furnaces, reporting, and data entry.
  • Monitors the ovens, hot plates and furnace temperature, maintains accurate log of process parameters on seed preparation sheet (printed and digital) and entering into the data base, as instructed by the Process Engineer and Production Supervisor.
  • Maintains raw material, graphite, glue, gaskets, bottles, and spare parts inventories.
  • Supports the evolution and maintenance of a complete set of ISO compliant Seed Preparation and anneal room procedures.
  • Keeps Seed Preparation areas clean and actively participates in housekeeping initiatives. Follows all safety and health regulations and procedures.
  • Precise record keeping and timely report out of the performance of the process.
  • Adapts readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations.
  • Effectiveness: Deals well with differences of opinion, manner and style; Seeks ideas from others; Pursues simple solutions to everyday problems.
  • Special projects as assigned and directed by management.
  • Supports Process Engineering ensuring projects and special assignments are carried out in a timely fashion according to special instructions.Effectiveness: Deals well with differences of opinion, manner and style; Seeks ideas from others; Pursues simple solutions to everyday problems.

Education & Experience
  • High school graduate. College level courses in math, physics, metrology, chemistry, or computer literacy are a plus.
  • 1 - 3 years of mechanical/electrical/chemical trades experience. Some lab experience is a plus.
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
  • Ability to recommend and implement improvements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software
  • Must be technically inclined with good mechanical skills.
