Position Overview: Coin Counsel invites law students from 1L to 3L standing with a keen interest in cryptocurrency law to apply for our summer internship program. This opportunity is ideal for students who wish to dive deep into the world of cryptocurrency legalities, focusing particularly on fraud prevention, litigation, and arbitration. Interns will work alongside our attorneys and staff, gaining invaluable experience in handling cases related to SIM swaps, pig butchering scams, exchange imposter scams, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed legal research and analysis in the area of cryptocurrency fraud, including but not limited to SIM swaps, pig butchering scams, and exchange imposter scams.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence to support litigation and advisory services related to crypto fraud cases.
  • Help prepare materials and presentations for client consultations, emphasizing strategies for fraud prevention and legal recourse.
  • Engage in client meetings, offering support and learning about client representation in crypto fraud matters.
  • Contribute to the firm’s compliance and regulatory advisory services, focusing on the prevention of cryptocurrency fraud.
  • Participate in special projects that further the firm’s goals in safeguarding the cryptocurrency ecosystem and its participants.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Demonstrated interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and particularly in the legal aspects of crypto fraud.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professionalism and adherence to ethical standards in the practice of law.

Internship Details:

  • The internship is offered for academic credit. Applicants should ensure the program complies with their law school’s credit requirements.
  • Duration: 10 weeks, during the summer. Option to continue in Fall.
  • This is an unpaid position. Interns will gain practical legal experience, professional growth opportunities, and networking within the niche field of cryptocurrency law and fraud prevention.
