Cole Health is Hiring a Pediatric Patient Authorization Coordinator Near Spring, TX
Medical Receptionist/Scheduler Experience PreferredLocation: 16835 Deer Creek Drive, Spring, TX 77379
Schedule: Can be flexible but typically 8am-5pm
Hourly Rate: $16-$17
The Medicaid Authorization Coordinator will obtain Medicaid authorizations in a timely manner. The Medicaid Authorization Coordinator reports to the Regional Director of Administration.
Operational ResponsibilityOn the 1st of each month process eligibility status for all Medicaid clients
Gather all necessary documentation and signatures on therapy evaluation reports in a timely manner for Medicaid authorization
Send authorization requests to Medicaid managed care and CHIPS Medicaid providers
Maintain file of all Medicaid authorizations
Accurately entering Medicaid authorization details in the patient database including therapy discipline, start and end dates of authorization, number of units or visits approved, and authorization number.
Contact appropriate personnel with detailed information on Medicaid authorization received including therapy discipline, start and end dates of authorization, number of units or visits approved, and authorization number. Communicate with Patient Schedulers when a client must go on hold due to lack of Medicaid authorization. Communicate to any involved Front Desk Receptionists any lack/change of Medicaid coverage for clients at the beginning of the month.
Shred or file copy of patient reports and documents once authorization is received.
Abide by HIPAA compliance regulations and guidelines when handling patient information
Other ResponsibilitiesCarry out any other projects assigned by the Regional Director of Administration.

Bilingual PreferredMicrosoft Office – Intermediate Level
High School Diploma or equivalent
