Coles Barton is looking for an associate attorney who is ready to use and develop their litigation skills by engaging in all aspects of resolving disputes, from initial research and development of case strategy through trial and appeal, and including everything in between like taking and defending depositions, drafting motions, and attending mediations. In most of our cases, we are either defending professionals and their practices or firms against allegations of negligence and malpractice or assisting businesses of all sizes in disputes related to real property, contract, and employment issues.

We are a boutique firm, so the ideal candidate will be able to work well with a small number of individuals and will be ready to do whatever needs to be done, from drafting discovery responses or reviewing documents to preparing to try a case or writing an appellate brief. We are client focused, so the ideal candidate will be personable and will communicate clearly and effectively. We handle cases throughout Georgia and other states in the southeast, so you must be able to travel, occasionally overnight.

We believe that the in-office environment is the best way to develop intraoffice and client relationships as well as to increase and hone your litigation skills. We also recognize the benefit and necessity of occasionally working from home. Accordingly, we offer a hybrid schedule, with most days spent in the office and some days working from home.

Qualifications

• Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Georgia
• At least two years of experience as a litigator
• Top notch legal research and writing skills

Salary

Starting at $110,000. Depends on experience.
