Department Statement:
The Colgate Student Health Center provides convenient, confidential, high quality and cost-effective care to Colgates diverse student community. The Student Health Center offers routine medical care, sexual health care, and mental health services while also promoting wellness through health education. The Student Health Center frequently partners with the University Counseling and Psychological Services and Shaw Wellness Institute to provide a holistic approach to student health and wellness.
This position has the flexibility of being 11 or 12 months based on the desire of the provider. Must be able to work the period of August 1 to May 31, with June or July being the flexible month off.
Accountabilities:
Primarily accountable for the delivery of healthcare services to students including, but not limited to:

• Acute illness evaluation and management with in office testing
• Coordinated management of chronic illness
• ER/Urgent Care follow up
• Accident and sports injury care
• Minor procedures (Incision and Drainage, sutures, wound care)
• Sexual health care and gender affirming care
• Primary care
• Mental health care
• Referral to local and regional specialists as appropriate
• Travel medicine
• Oversight of immunizations and allergy immunotherapy
• Ordering of appropriate labs and x rays and timely follow up
• Counseling and educating patients/students regarding personal health and wellbeing
• Follow policy/procedure with respect to documentation and privacy/confidentiality
• Creating and managing specific treatment plans as assigned
• Ensuring key campus partners receive effective training and guidance on relevant student health topics
• Participate in department, division, and/or campus committees
• Other duties as required

This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), in accordance with the federal statutory requirements of the Jeanne Clery Act. CSAs are required to and responsible for reporting allegations of crimes they receive from students and employees to the Campus Safety Department.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
A minimum of three years clinical experience as a PA/NP required.
Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with a diverse patient population within a fast-paced clinical setting and experience with EMR software systems.
• Previous experience working with adolescents and/or college-aged students.

Education
Maintenance of New York State licensure as well as National Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner (ANCC/AANPCP/AACN) with regular and DEA prescriptive privileges.

Work Schedule:
This position has the flexibility to be an 11 or 12 month position, with the option to work June and/or July. Length of term will be determined upon hire.Schedule:August 1 - May 31 (Monday - Friday 8:45 am - 5:00pm)Occasional Saturday morning coverage (9:00am - 1:00pm)

The Campus Safety Department will provide upon request a copy of Colgates Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. This report includes statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education for the previous three years concerning reported: 1. crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Colgate University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus and 2. fires that occurred in student housing facilities. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security and fire safety, such as policies concerning sexual assault, life safety systems, and other related matters.
