About the Role:
- The Billing and Collections Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate invoicing, reconciliation, and collection of outstanding payments for complex accounts.
- This role serves as the main point of contact for internal and external customers regarding billing and collection issues.
- The incumbent will also assist in process improvements, payment recording, and reconciliation to maximize revenues.
- Research and respond to complex patient inquiries regarding billing issues - Review billing forms for accuracy before submission to payors
- Assist in preparing monthly billing and accounts receivable reports - Handle complex billing issues, including verifying patient eligibility with insurance carriers
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of insurance, demographic, and eligibility information into the system
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and other relevant regulations and company policies
