Seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering (EE) Component Evaluation Specialist to join our team. The main purpose of this role is to plan and conduct evaluations to ensure alternate electronic components meet Abbott’s component, device, and system level requirements/specifications. This position supports regulatory submissions for our pacemaker, implantable defibrillator, and cardiac monitor product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Test Plan and Report Authoring:

• Develop and document test plans and reports in Windchill system.
• Ensure all documentation is completed on schedule and adheres to policies and EE R&D documentation best practices.

1. Statistical Analysis:

• Perform statistical analysis of experimental results against production data using tools such as Minitab and Excel.
• Ensure new components do not negatively impact production yields.

1. Test Station Operation:

• Operate custom test stations for Automated Test Equipment (ATE), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) coverage, following training.

1. Collaboration and Learning:

• Interface with R&D and other team members to understand circuit functions of specific components.
• Perform other duties as necessary to support evaluation processes.

1. Component and Circuit Testing:

• Conduct testing and data collection for discrete components using impedance analyzers, LCR meters, micro ohm meters, etc.
• Test and collect data for assembled circuits at various stages of manufacture using oscilloscopes, DMMs, SMUs, power analyzers, temperature chambers, and other tools.

1. Communication and Meetings:

• Attend and conduct meetings to support evaluations.
• Maintain strong communication with team members, stakeholders, and internal/external customers.
• Create and present PowerPoint slides to share evaluation results and updates during meetings.
• Take ownership of the evaluation process and ensure effective meeting setup and execution.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in using and programming test equipment automation or other software platforms like LabVIEW, C , Python, etc.

1. Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including creating presentations in PowerPoint.
• Strong statistical analysis skills using Minitab, Excel, or similar tools.
• Experience with operating and troubleshooting various test equipment and data collection tools.
• Ability to document test plans and results in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in electrical component evaluation, testing, and documentation.
• Experience in a regulated industry, particularly in medical devices, is a plus.
