What You’ll Be Helping Achieve

As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the different Accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger, and other special projects. Additionally, the Assistant Controller will help with the preparation of financial reports. These invaluable reports and your recommendations are reviewed by various leaders to analyze, make informed decisions, and execute different courses of action.

What You’ll Be Working On:

• Assist with the month-end and year-end close process
• Assist with the integration of M&A activities into the current ERP and accounting environment
• Manage a team of 5-8 resources, across the different Accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Ledger
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
• Coordinating activities of external auditors
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Assist with Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
• Assist with all audits including DCAA, Annual Financial Statements
• Assist with internal rates/pools and reconciliation

How You’ll Excel In Your Role

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
• 7-10 years of experience in Accounting and Finance
• Public Accounting experience
• Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) experience
• Costpoint experience

Preferred Experience

• CPA
• Big 4 experience
• Unanet experience
