College of Southern Idaho is Hiring a Learning coordinator Near Twin Falls, ID

The Learning & Tutoring Commons Director is a full-time (40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM), 12-month position with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.

The Learning & Tutoring Commons Director develops and manages centralized tutoring at the College of Southern Idaho, including the Peer Tutoring Program, Online Tutoring, and related services.

This position reports to the Dean of General and Transfer Education.

Primary responsibilities include :

  • Coordinate tutoring services for campus and off-campus centers.
  • Coordinate support for high DFW classes in conjunction with faculty, department chairs, and the Teaching and Learning Center.
  • Coordinate Online Tutoring through the Western Online Tutoring Consortium (or other platform).
  • Oversee and monitor budget and payroll for the Learning & Tutoring Commons program.
  • Collaborate with other campus programs (Bridge to Success, etc.) to assist students with tutoring needs.
  • Participate in new student enrollment events by providing Learning & Tutoring Commons sessions and / or informational materials.
  • Collaborate with faculty to provide appropriate workshops for improving student learning skills.
  • Hire, supervise, and coordinate peer tutors, work-study students, and athletic study hall proctors.
  • Create strategy for tutoring services at CSI.
  • Provide data, reports, and suggestions monthly to the Dean of General and Transfer Education.

Required Skills :

  • Experience coaching / mentoring others.
  • Strong computer and technical skill knowledge.
  • Experience working with technology, specifically in a distance education setting.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills with the ability to establish personal and professional credibility with both internal and external constituents.
  • Ability to listen actively and demonstrate understanding to a diverse population of students, college employees, and community members.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate outcomes and effectiveness of projects / programs.
  • Ability to generate and identify opportunities to improve programs and / or operations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently.

Qualifications :

Interested candidates should have a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree should provide a statement explaining their equivalent experience working with tutoring and / or instructional support services.

A background in education (elementary, secondary, higher education) would be very helpful. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
