Collins Aerospace is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to support the Windsor Locks, CT Space Systems business unit. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will work with both the Supplier Base Integration and the Supplier Quality Engineering Organization to support Space Systems and Collins Aerospace Mission Systems Quality Organization in furthering the great endeavor of human space exploration. You will have an in-depth background in working with key subcontracts and subcontract manufacturers. In addition, you will have an in-depth background and the ability to manage the suppliers within various commodities with a focus in the mechanical/ machining / electro-mechanical commodity field.
What You Will Do
  • Develop supplier partnerships to ensure quality, service and cost requirements that meet the needs of the Raytheon Technologies and Collins Aerospace Operations, Program Management and Engineering teams.
  • Work with supplier partners to investigate and correct supplier quality issues and establish a culture of continuous improvement. The goal is to create a trusting relationship with emphasis on removing waste and variability from processes to assist suppliers with improving their quality.
  • Provide analysis of customer quality requirements against external procedures and processes to ensure compliance.
  • Utilize understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001 and lean manufacturing to work with suppliers on quality and operational improvement.
  • Lead onsite supplier audits/assessments (QMS, Manufacturing Process Reviews, etc.).
  • With excellent communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal), report on supplier development progress.
  • Position will report directly to Manager of Supplier Quality
  • Travel 30-40% domestically.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Aerospace Quality Engineering or Supplier Quality Engineering
  • Minimum 1 years experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ability to read blueprints and work with 3D models.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with manufactured products incorporating mechanical and electrical commodities.
  • Experience with auditing to AS9100 or ISO9001, Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, RRCA, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills - able to interface with others at all levels within an organization.
  • Strong organizational and computing skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), SharePoint, Python, Visual Basic for Applications, and SAP ERP.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
