THIS OPPORTUNITY
Collins has an opening for a Construction Engineer in our Denver, Colorado office. The primary responsibility of this role is conducting inspections, scheduling, and oversight of heavy highway structural projects. This role offers the chance to work with industry leaders while using innovative technology. You will have the independence to solve technical problems and steward solutions through the delivery process. This position will provide the opportunity for growth, where continuing development and participation in professional societies will be encouraged and supported. The Construction Engineer is an integral part of the Construction Management team and will work under the guidance of the Project Leader (Resident Engineer). Responsibilities of the position are to perform inspection of construction activities to document conformance to plans and specifications, sample/test materials, document contract quantities, manage other inspection staff, and ensure high-quality construction for transportation projects.

WHO YOU ARE:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited four-year university; P.E. License; appropriate continuing education; general engineering knowledge of staging, electrical construction, utility construction, roadway construction, and bridge construction; and 4-8 years of construction management or related experience.
Extensive use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and construction management databases/tracking software is required for this role.
Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Ability to obtain certifications for material sampling/testing for aggregates, concrete, asphalt, grading, etc. (ACI, NICET or state certifications)
Ability to obtain certifications for inspection of roadways, bridges, coatings, etc. (NICET or state certifications)
Valid driver’s license
