Collins is Hiring a Particleboard Production Supervisor Near Klamath Falls, OR

Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor will supervise a day, swing, graveyard, or relief shift to ensure the smooth operation of the facility during the operating shift.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide front-line management of the crew, including all hourly employees and the shift's maintenance team.
  • Promote and foster a safe working culture.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, safety rules, company rules, and OSHA regulations.
  • Supervise production to ensure completion according to production schedule while prioritizing employee safety, product quality, and cost management.
  • Maintain the working relationship with the bargaining unit by following the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Communicate shift activities with other shift supervisors, maintenance personnel, the Production Superintendent, and the Operations Manager.
  • Support operations in key variable tracking and data analysis, complete shift reports, and process employee time and attendance reports.
  • Participate in teams working on opportunities to improve manufacturing excellence.
  • Perform other duties or related projects as assigned.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work activities of a shift with up to 35 employees.
    • Responsible for performance management of direct reports in accordance with company values, objectives, and policies.
    • Provide mentoring, coaching, training, and support consistent with developing and sustaining a high-performing and accountable team.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to learn the manufacturing process and apply knowledge in real-world, day-to-day situations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills; ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • High level of personal integrity and ethical and professional standards.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Prior supervisory experience or relevant prior work experience in a leadership role.
  • Minimum three years of manufacturing experience or college education in a related field.
Environmental Conditions:
May be exposed to dust, noise, trip hazards, and variable weather and temperatures.
Required Personal Protective Equipment:
Individuals must be willing to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Positions may require additional PPE at specific times. Examples of PPE which may be required include high visibility garments, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, a hard hat, foot protection, a face shield, and a respirator.
