Colonial Parking is Hiring a GENERAL MANAGER Near Washington, DC

Position Summary

The General Manager has overall responsibility for a portfolio comprised of a large number of locations. This position delivers company, client and customer expectations by ensuring the locations within the portfolio are operating in accordance to company policy. Oversees managerial aspects in accordance with Company mission statement, including maximization of financial performance, client satisfaction, and staff development within established quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures the daily operations within his/her are of responsibility perform in accordance of company policy by ensuring each location is properly staffed, and follows set opening and closing procedures.

• Leads teams, comprised of both professional and hourly workforce individuals, by sourcing candidates, ensuring onboarding and training are provided consistently, develops key talent.

• Develop and mentor Senior Operations Manager and provide leadership to them and portfolio.

• Works with senior management and clients to ensure revenue opportunities are maximized from both a transient and contract parker perspective through conducting rate surveys and other analysis.

• Manage budget process, variance reporting, quarterly forecast, reviewing management reports on a consolidated basis to ensure financial results meet both corporate and client budgeted expectations.

• Drafting RFP’s and/or attend potential client presentations as part of a bid process.

• Ensures all facilities within the area of responsibility operate in accordance with company policy including revenue control, equipment maintenance, proper and accurate signage and customer service standards. Seeking efficient ways to operate parking garages and internal processes for more efficient operations.

• Reviews incident claims, internal audit scores and Workers’ Comp trends and works with senior management and/or the Corporate Office to resolve gaps in performance.

• Manage and monitor communications between operations and other internal departments.

-Responsible at all times for reviewing, understanding and acknowledging in writing when requested, the company provided policies and procedures that directly support completing my required work duties.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Other special projects as directed by the Vice President, Operations or senior management.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in General Business or related field.

• Minimum of five years with operational and leadership experience in the parking or related industry, including revenue control and reporting.

• Background in managing multiple facilities across a geographic range is required.

• Established experience in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

• Established experience in building annual budgets, managing and reporting results, identifying and instituting changes to the business to either maximize profitability or mitigate actuals that fall below expectations.

• Excellent oral (including formal presentations) and written communications and comprehension skills, required.

Qualifications Desired

• Background in the parking industry in a supervisory role within a private operation organization strongly desired, but not required.

• Ability to source new business opportunities for company consideration is strongly desired.

• Ability to analyze and consult on technology and equipment, revenue maximization, and G&A efficiency opportunities strongly desired.

Performance Standards

This position will receive an annual performance review from the direct supervisor to discuss actual performance as compared to company stated expectations and agreed upon job related performance goals for the upcoming year.
