Description

Trinidad State College, a member of the NJCAA, is currently seeking applications for an Assistant AD, Head Men's and Women's Track, Cross Country and Half Marathon Coach, as well as the Esports Director. This position is a full-time appointment with a comprehensive benefits package. TSC is located in Southern Colorado with campuses in Trinidad and Alamosa. It is preferred that this position be located on the Valley Campus in Alamosa. The successful candidate for this position will be tasked with bridging the two campuses.

A strong, well-rounded knowledge of distance events and previous coaching/recruiting experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Candidates must have strong organizational and communication skills, be highly motivated and attentive to details, have the ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment, and the ability to provide effective leadership to students to encourage both successful academic development and competitive performance. Additional responsibilities will also be assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Examples of Duties

Head Cross Country Coach duties include but not limited to:
  • Serve as Head Coach for both Men's and Women's Cross-Country programs, demonstrating leadership and sportsmanship
  • Develop, promote and implement the Cross-Country Program during the academic year, including the competitive playing season
  • Designs, executes and assesses athlete's development, practice and race preparation activities
  • Oversight of cross-country program's administrative operations including scheduling, team travel, equipment, apparel ordering, budget planning and management
  • Recruit athletes from local and regional high schools
  • Run a multi-campus program
  • Compliance with NJCAA and TSC Athletic Department's rules and regulations
  • Develop and pursue annual recruiting goals and program goals. Participate in department's assessment cycle and annual implementation planning
  • Promote high academic standards to all athletes, demonstrating this importance through tables, grade checks and promotion of academic excellence
  • Advising and mentoring team members with athletic and academic support
  • Position will be responsible for student support services that may include advising, financial aid or related duties depending on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Athletic Director
Assistant Athletic Director duties include but not limited to:
  • Develop Media for Cross Country, Track and Half Marathon programs, including website, social media and other media posts
  • Help with NJCAA Eligibility process for the Cross Country, Track and Half Marathon programs
  • Help create the TSC Hall of Fame
  • Coordinate all planning and scheduling of the Region 9 events (cross country and track) when they are hosted by Trinidad State College
  • Oversee Assistant Cross Country, Track and Half Marathon Coach
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Athletic Director
ESports Director duties include but not limited to:
  • Develop Media for ESports programs, including website, social media and other media posts
  • Help with NJCAA Eligibility process for the Esports Programs
  • Organize equipment and programs for both campus Esports teams
  • Oversee Esports Coach
Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Athletic Director
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Work experience in education at the postsecondary or secondary level.
  • Experience as a Cross Country, Track and Half Marathon coach at the postsecondary or secondary level.
  • Must hold, or must qualify for a Colorado Commercial Driver's License.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills
