As a member of the Loan Production Team, the Pre-Underwriting and Loan Closing Specialist works with colleagues and applicants in the pre-underwriting portion of the loan application process, produces loan documents, conducts loan closings and documents collateral. Commitment to superior customer service as well as respectful, responsive communication is paramount. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and is ready to support other members of the team. The work environment for this role is hybrid. Candidates should expect to regularly travel to the CEF office as business needs require for work, training or meetings.
Requirements

  • Responsible for loan servicing functions, ensuring a quality experience from packaging to closing.
  • Gather required documents, assemble, and provide complete loan packages for submission to Loan Officers and Underwriting staff.
  • Ability to comprehend business and personal financial statements along with tax returns.
  • Review loan documents submitted by borrowers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize and update the CRM system to ensure internal metrics on moving requests through the pipeline are met.
  • Loan file development and management.
  • Professional, direct communication with the borrower throughout the lending process.
  • Provide technical systems assistance to borrowers who may not know or understand the process.
  • Verification of information provided by borrowers including researching Secretary of State records and other public records.
  • File legal documentation related to the collateral pledged to CEF in the loan agreement.
Education/Experience
  • Associate degree in finance, business, or a related field is required, equivalent coursework will be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a banking, insurance, or commercial banking environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat and CRM systems.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including an ability to engage in consistent, detailed documentation of work performed.
  • Ability to quickly learn and master basic concepts relating to loan servicing.
  • Managing and organizing documents effectively.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills including phone presence.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to CEF's mission, vision, & values.
  • Professional demeanor and willingness to cooperatively participate on a team in a small mission-based organization.
  • Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Collaborative team-player.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus, however not required.
  • As well as knowledge of:
  • Business and personal financial statements and tax returns
  • Standard commercial loan documentation
  • Public records filing process and documentation for business assets (UCC)
  • Deeds of trust and public records request and filing process
  • SBA 7a loans
