Colorado Eye Clinic is Hiring an Ophthalmic Assistant - Ophthalmic Technician Near Englewood, CO

Job Type: Full-time or part-time. Hours will be between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday – Friday

Job Description:

We are looking for an energetic, motivated, and versatile Ophthalmic Assistant to complete our team. The ideal candidate will handle front desk duties and assist with patient care.

Responsibilities:

We are willing to train for any specific task listed below.

- Front Desk:

· Greet patients.

· Check in patients, including verification of check-in forms, ID, and insurance.

· Schedule, reschedule, cancel appointments.

· Answer phone calls and relay messages.

· Collect payments.

· Maintain a professional atmosphere for the office and reception area.

· Maintain a professional personal appearance appropriate and consistent with an ophthalmology clinic.

- Clinical Assistance:

· Manage patient flow.

· Maintain equipment and prepare and maintain examination rooms.

· Initiate documentation of chief complaint, history, and medication list.

· Administer eye drops, measure visual acuity and intraocular pressure.

· Perform visual fields, OCT, and other tests.

· Assist with patient exams and treatments.

- Others:

· Stay compliant with the Colorado Eye Clinic policies, HIPPA regulations, and other applicable compliance requirements.

· Participate in regularly scheduled office meetings.

· Participate in marketing meetings on and offsite.

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as they emerge.

Qualifications:

- Strong customer service skills.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in ophthalmic assisting are a plus but not required.

- Preferred previous experience in a medical office or customer service role.

- Preferred basic understanding of medical terminology and patient care.

- Basic computer literacy.

- Highly preferred if proficient in Spanish and/or Arabic.

- Preferably interested in long-term opportunities and promotion to higher roles and responsibilities.

- Above average salary, starting at $25 - $35 / hour. Pay is dependent on the applicant’s relevant experience.
