As part of our Controller's Office-Mines Administrative Processing Services (MAPS) team, the person in this position plays a key role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly. From processing vendor payments to managing employee reimbursements, the Accountant I will be involved in a variety of tasks that keep our campus thriving.Primary Responsibilities
The accountant makes decision on the proper accounting treatment of transactions, which impacts the University's and the State's financial reporting. In order to accomplish this purpose, the accountant:
Specific Duties include
Research, review, and enter requested campus transactions in A/R, cash receipts, Interdepartmental sales, foundation gift funds, capital assets, month-end close, and grant accounting. Evaluate the submitted documentation and approvals, available budget, post and/or approve the transaction in accordance with the appropriate rules, regulations and guidance.
