Position Summary:

RV Mechanics do a little bit of everything: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, etc. If you can do any one of these, we’ll teach you the rest! To get started as a new RV mechanic in our dealership, you don’t need specific RV experience, but you do need to be handy, responsible, and professional. A successful RV Mechanic must be dedicated, have the ability to diagnose and fix problems, and have a focus on quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Expertly diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis, and testing after discussing with
    clients and examining RV to determine nature of problem
  • Presents job cost estimates and parts replacement needs/suggestions
  • Troubleshoots pneumatic, hydraulic, electromechanical, and electronic problems and
    performs necessary adjustment, repair, or overhaul
  • Completes repairs to water and sewage plumbing, propane gas lines, and electrical wiring
    as needed
  • Removes damaged exterior panels and repairs and replaces structural frame pieces

Compensation

Compensation ranges from $17 per hour for entry level candidates up to $41 for experienced candidates.

Requirements:

Education, Experience and Work Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • RVIA certification preferred but not required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to diagnose and fix electrical, heating, plumbing, and hydraulic systems
  • Construction skills to repair water damaged units
  • Must have own tools appropriate to skill level
  • Certification in trade fields such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, are a plus!
  • Previous experience in one or more of these skilled trades:
    • Boat: Exteriors
    • Boat: Interiors
    • Carpentry
    • Cars
    • Electrical Systems

Valid State License & Clean Driving Record Required
