IT - SENIOR FINANCIAL SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
SummaryThe Senior Financial Systems Administrator serves as a lead and technical expert in the area of system administration and is responsible for the optimal implementation, support, security, and management of all institution-wide financial information management systems. The Senior Financial Information Systems Administrator partners with administrators across the organization to ensure sound financial and accounting information management.
Essential Duties
  • Responsible for managing, developing, updating, and ensuring the optimal operation of institution-wide financial and accounting system applications, including Infor ERP by Lawson, PowerPlan, Ascend, etc.
  • Responsible for working within the IT Services department, finance team stakeholders, and external consultants on upgrades, implementations, and maintenance of financial systems.
  • Ensure custom report, query, and dashboard capabilities are implemented to comply with required reporting standards, in addition to the financial reporting request from senior leadership.
  • Review and create the implementation specifications to develop and maintain efficient financial accounting and business processes.
  • Be the institution-wide subject matter expert pertaining to all automated financial and accounting information systems.
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams in addressing financial or systems issues.
  • Participate in the change management and development of user documentation, including FAQs, Job Aides, Operational Guides, Online Content, etc.
  • Partner with business process administrators and technical support staff to implement and maintain the highest financial data management, security configuration, and reporting standards.
  • Design, configure, and test integrations between the financial system and all other external systems.
  • Leverage business knowledge and expertise toidentify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and advise stakeholders on options, risks, and any impacts on other processes or systems.
  • Partner with business process administrators to develop and implement new financial and accounting processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry changes, continuously seeking opportunities for improvements and policy changes to enhance efficiency and user experience.
  • Monitor institutional needs relative to software and hardware capabilities, designing system modifications to meet changing demands.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
RequirementsEducation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced Degree preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years experience with progressive management responsibility in financial information systems and financial operations.
  • Working knowledge of automation/programming and expertise in managing data in relational databases and the application of data visualization tools.
  • Strong understanding of financial operations and the ability to identify problems or gaps in the financial systems, solve problems creatively, and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Knowledge of standard ERP Financial software. Current ERP suite (Infor, PowerPlan, Ceridian Dayforce (HR), Ascend Document Management.
  • Ability to create automated reports, utilize business intelligence tools, and design and implement complex modeling tools.
  • Open to learning processes and can translate that knowledge to IT teams.
  • Ability to work with people from different units as required to help address financial or system issues.
  • Ability to enact change quickly
Certification
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesProblem Solving
  • Demonstrated skill in problem-solving and troubleshooting local and cloud computing hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Experience as a primary technical support contact for a client.
  • Excellent judgment and strategic skills for ensuring mutually positive outcomes, balancing internal priorities with client objectives

Communication/Professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational, and consensus-building skills, as demonstrated by successful applications analysis and design, systems implementation, and project management experience
  • Demonstrated excellent technical and non-technical communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience providing technical customer support on the phone, online, and in person.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and train team members or team leaders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team providing timely, high-quality services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when accessing records for business needs.
  • Experience managing constant, competing demands and limited resources with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Experience building and developing intra- and inter-departmental teams and teamwork
Technical Skills
  • Experience in migration planning, systems upgrade planning, and enterprise support tools.
Salary Range: $98k - $135k
