Description:
Columbia College Business Administration Department in the Robert W. Plaster School of Business invites applications for full-time, tenure track faculty at the Main Campus located in Columbia, Missouri, for the Fall 2024 academic year. Teaching, program coordination, professional development, and service are all required aspects of the position. Teaching responsibilities include both undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Analytics and at least one of the following areas depending on qualifications: Management, Accounting, or Finance. The Program Coordinator is responsible for course offerings, staffing, and assessment of the Business Analytics programs. Customarily, a Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor teach 18 academic hours or their equivalent in an academic year with 3 credit hours of load each semester allocated to Program Coordinator along with a stipend for work done in the Summer on the program. Departmental service responsibilities include, but are not limited to, curriculum development and oversight of relevant course offerings in all Columbia College locations, participation in department meetings, faculty association, committees, student advising, and other service activities such as academic assessment, co-curricular activities, and College events (may require occasional afternoon, evening, and/or weekend commitments). Columbia College has nationwide locations and a strong online program, the successful candidate should be able to assist the department with curricular needs, development, and oversight in all teaching venues. Compliance with College policies and directions including but not limited to keeping records, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours, and evaluating student performance, etc. is required. Strong interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and demonstrated potential to contribute positively to a college community are expected. Competitive salary commensurate with credentials and experience.
 This position will support several programs including undergraduate, graduate, and various certificate programs in business analytics and related subjects.
Qualifications:
A relevant doctoral degree in either Accountancy, Finance, Management, or Business Analytics. In addition to the relevant doctoral degree, the candidate must have either graduate hours, a master’s degree, or professional licensure in one or more of the areas outside of the doctoral degree so long as the candidate has either a doctoral degree or master’s degree relevant to Business Analytics that would qualify the successful candidate for a tenure-track position, rank based on experience. Current workplace experience in an associated field and/or college teaching experience are highly desired. The ideal candidate will possess experience providing effective student-centered teaching and classroom management strategies which enhance the success of diverse learners; experience with innovative teaching approaches and use of distance education technologies in teaching; and experience with curriculum development.
