Columbia Consulting Group is Hiring an Early Care and Education Inclusion Coach (Sierra Vista) Near Sierra, AZ

DescriptionThe Early Care and Education Inclusion Coach works with early childhood education (ECE) staff to promote successful inclusion of children with special needs into targeted early educational settings. This includes classroom assessment; goal planning; individualized technical assistance; assisting with identification of children with special needs; participation in the development of an Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP) and/or Individualized Education Plan (IEP); facilitation of therapy consultation; and coordination of referrals to others who may provide services to a target child.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities (with Or Without Accommodation)
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and implements all processes, policies, and procedures used in EBF coaching services as applicable.
  • Recognizes the need to maintain a dual focus on both relationships with participants and program activities fostering an assets or strengths-based approach.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of child development, developmentally appropriate practice, positive guidance and discipline, child-centered approaches, and management in early care and education settings.
  • Adheres to EBF core values, mission statement, and the Codes of Ethics of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
  • Meets all timelines as outlined in the program contract and by EBF.
  • Travels to assigned child care centers, group homes, and family home providers to provide onsite coaching.
  • Orients early care and education staff to program policies, requirements and commitments to the project.
  • Guides the development of an individual classroom or center plan which includes a goal setting process that is developed through assessment, observation, and collaborative discussion.
  • Engages in collaboration with other involved ECE professionals or technical assistance providers within EBF and outside agencies.
  • Assists ECE staff in identifying children in need of further evaluation and provides support to staff in communication with families about the need for further evaluation.
  • Assists ECE staff with how to incorporate IFSP/IEP outcomes within the classroom daily routine and activities.
  • Assists ECE staff with how to collaborate with the IFSP/IEP team to support the child’s growth and development.
  • Meets regularly with program participants and quarterly with other technical assistance providers, including Quality First.
  • As needed, plans and implements training in a variety of areas based on best practice principles in adult learning and identified goals and objectives of improvement plan.
  • Utilizes training techniques that are interactive and offers participants an opportunity to reflect.
  • Follows ethical guidelines for early childhood professionals.
  • Maintains established work schedule, is punctual, keeps appointments, is willing to adapt schedule to meet unexpected needs and changes, and utilizes time effectively.
  • Cooperates with other consultants in all aspects of design, delivery and evaluation of training and coaching.
  • Provides constructive, strength-based feedback to colleagues, participants, and other technical assistance providers.
  • Attends staff meetings and shares pertinent information with supervisor and team members regarding work progress, successes, barriers, concerns, and other areas that may have an impact on the department’s services or image.
  • Responds promptly to emails and voice messages.
  • Clearly completes all required data collection and documentation including program applications, enrollment agreements, individual center plans, and coaching logs.
  • Proofs and revises work for correct grammar, spelling, and format.
  • Completes and submits required monthly program reports.
  • Submits accurate and complete reports as per program guidelines and according to program timelines.
  • Uses effective approaches to resolve conflicts.
  • Any other duties as assigned
RequirementsEducation:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education, child development, early childhood special education, or related field.
Experience
  • Two years’ experience in Early Intervention or Early Childhood Special Education, preferably in inclusive settings.
Regulatory
  • Clearance from the Background Check for Employment through the Central Registry as required by Arizona Department of Economic Services-Child Care Administration (ADES-CCA)
  • Current State of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card
  • Valid, unrestricted Arizona driver’s license and the willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment. Must meet minimum requirements of agency insurance carrier.
  • Current First Aid and CPR cards
  • Specialty Instructor Status in the Arizona Early Childhood Workforce Registry
  • Must be able to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as face mask, gown, goggles, and gloves, for any amount of time necessary to provide a physical barrier to protect the employee and others.
