Enrich Foods, LLC is the operating subsidiary of Columbia Grain that manufactures and markets consumer packages and commercial ingredients to the retail marketplace. Enrich Foods, LLC completed its first acquisition by purchasing Great River Milling in Fountain City, Wisconsin, assuming its milling operation and a new, state-of-the-art packaging and distribution facility. This new venture provides CGI the foundation to expand into consumer products and commercial supply. We are searching for a General Manager for our production facility in Fountain City WI.

Position Description

Reporting to the C.O.O., the General Manager will provide strategic and operational oversight for two separate processing facilities. This key management role will be accountable for upholding the highest standards aligned to safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance. The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility from production efficiencies to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. In addition they will be responsible to maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. And as Great River Milling is a satellite facility of Columbia Grain International this role will also work collaboratively with and in support of other relevant department within CGI.

This position will be located in our Fountain City Wisconsin production facility. Relocation assistance will be considered.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The General Manager has primary responsibility for all functions of the manufacturing process in two facilities to include production, procurement, supply chain management, demand planning, safety, and quality control:

  • Oversees all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing through shipping and distribution while ensuring policies and procedures are followed
  • Leads Managers and Team Members to utilize assigned resources intended to maximize manufacturing output, minimize waste/downtime, improve capacity and efficiencies and maintain product quality and integrity
  • Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained
  • Provide coaching and development of plant staff to ensure effective leadership, collaboration and balance in achieving KPIs focused on safety, quality, customer service and productivity
  • Develops and implements financial and non-financial objectives including annual budget that serves as the plants operating plan
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve performance, meeting and exceeding plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Increase production asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs
  • Monitors plant performance, identifies/troubleshoots deficiencies and makes improvement recommendations
  • Accountable for production line costs, i.e. labor, overtime, supplies, yields, productivity, and training
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product formulations, and operating or production problems
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience

  • Minimum 8-10 years of senior plant management level experience in a high-speed manufacturing and operations environment.
  • Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems
  • A demonstrated knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management and a track record of achieving results against a comprehensive set of KPIs
  • Excellent problem solving, and reasoning skills required
  • Ability to analyze downtime and financial variance trends, identifying actions to deliver expected performance
  • Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the company; plant floor to executive leadership
  • Must be proficient with MS Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to travel without restrictions

USDA Experience is beneficial. Food manufacturing experience is a requirement to be considered
