Summary: The Application Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned opportunities to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Actively drive and manage the technology evaluation state of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Increases sales volume by facilitating the sale of palletizer and systems related components by supporting internal Account Managers and independent sales representatives through professional technical sales drawings and proposals.
• Uses standard costing format to provide accurate budgetary and detailed proposals to customers and sales representatives with time constraints.
• Scrutinizes Customers product characteristics, throughput rate, and available area to recommend appropriate palletizer technology.
• Builds internal relationships with cross-functional departments to facilitate costing estimates for unique applications or major systems proposals.
• Performs first-pass review of Customer Requests for Quotation and specification packages.
• Defines within proposal Columbias responsibility and scope.
• Flexible in responding to requests for revisions and detail-oriented in ensuring that considerations regarding revisions are adequately accounted for.
• Maintains and expands our relationship with major accounts and repeat Customers
• Evaluates project results, customer feedback and competitive developments from the field and communicated research and development opportunities to the engineering team.
• Travel in the range of up to 20% to support sales and service efforts.
