Columbia Memorial Hospital is Hiring a Registered Nurse Peri-Anesthesia - $3,000 Sign On Bonus Near Astoria, OR

This position is eligible for CMH’s Nurse Residency Program. All RNs who have graduated in the past 12 months will automatically be enrolled in the nurse residency program.
  • $3,000 sign-on bonus for applicants who have zero seniority at CMH and who meet all other conditions for payment**
  • To receive sign-on bonus, applicant must sign an offer letter by December 31, 2024, and begin working within three weeks of that acceptance. Full details of payment conditions can be obtained from Human Resources.
ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: PRIORITY RECRUITMENTThe PACU Staff RN performs clerical, plus direct and indirect nursing duties in cooperation with other nursing staff and Anesthesia personnel in PACU. The position also performs and assists with planning, organizing, and delivering quality patient care to pre- and post-operative patients during routine and emergency situations in PACU. Assists Anesthesia personnel in emergency situations in OR as available or necessary. Works as scheduled or as required to fulfill requirements.
Job RequirementsKnowledge of /Skill/Ability to: Ability to work in chaotic and demanding environment. Ability to assess patients and act on findings accurately following protocols, procedures and policy. Able to access resources for regulatory and practice issues. Ability to perform skills to provide IV access, products to use considering size and volume of fluid needed to infuse. Ability to handle multiple tasks and duties simultaneously. Ability to mentally prioritize. Ability to maintain a professional, low-key, pleasant and tactful affect during patient care to all those encountered. Able to speak, write, and read English consistently to communicate effectively with others.
License/Certification: RN currently licensed with the State of Oregon Board of Nursing. Current BLS required upon hire through the American Heart Association, ACLS certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Education and/or Experience: Either previous PACU experience and or critical care nursing experience preferred. Highly motivated and should understand that the success of the patient's experience is dependent on their performance. For RNs graduating within the last 12 months, or RNs that have not practiced in an acute care facility within the last 24 months, and have not previously completed a residency program will be required to complete the CMH-provided program if available.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA ComplianceStanding and walking most of the time while on duty is necessary. Must be able to push/pull stretchers and lift patients, unassisted, using proper body mechanics. Pushes/pulls loaded adult stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, crash carts and equipment carts. Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling for 8 – 12 hours (shift dependent). Lifts or carries up to 50 lbs. Able to adapt to various degrees of lighting in clean, well-ventilated working areas. Visual acuity to read and interpret monitors, computer screen information, and written documentation during working hours. Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment. Dexterity to perform skills for auscultating, IV starts and fluid profusion, etc. to perform skills independently when needed. Works inside. Occasionally will work extended hours or variation of usual shift and will be dependent on patient requirements. Normal to corrected vision is required. Normal or corrected hearing is necessary to distinguish differences in monitor alarms, heartbeats, and breathing. Subject to physical and emotional stress of work environment. Must be willing and committed to safe management of potentially infectious diseases and the handling of toxic drug therapies. Required to use personal protective apparel. Subject to occasional physical and emotional stress within a fast-paced environment.
