Columbus Regional Hospital is Hiring an Ultrasound Technician Near Columbus, IN

What you need to know about this position:

  • The Ultrasound Technician performs ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in one of the following areas: OB/GYN, abdomen, and neurosonology.
  • Exercises professional judgment while incorporating the Standards of Service and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.
  • Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
  • This is the entry level/orientation phase. The technician must meet orientation objectives, receive a satisfactory performance evaluation and be promoted to Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by coordinator/manager within eighteen months.
  • This position is the essential high quality practice upon which all other levels are built. All technicians are held accountable to uphold the basic standards of practice for their specialty.
  • To be promoted to Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, the participant must obtain Registration in Vascular Technology (RVT) or General Ultrasound (RDMS). Registration is required within eighteen months of hire date or internal transfer date into this position to meet the requirements of accreditation.
  • The base hourly rate for this position is $31.97. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience and does include shift differentials and premium pay as applicable. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
  • This PRN position would require you to work various 8-hour shifts, with a holiday rotation.

What is required for this position:

Education and/or Experience

  • Currently enrolled or Graduate of Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited sonography program or equivalent or graduate of another accredited Allied health field, i.e.RN,RT, LPN, etc. The required CE credits must be maintained in accordance with the accrediting bodies requirements.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
